Thanksgiving '08

We (Mike and Tammy) took the Outlaw to northern Cal to visit Mike's family in Corning. We thought it would be easier than staying in a hotel, and we were right. We re-named the Outlaw to the Jubilee Support Vehicle. It was perfect for carrying all of her "stuff"--the play pin, the baby corral, the highchair, all of her toys, the car seat, the buzzy chair... Then we didn't have to pack and unpack everyday.
It's really quite beautiful up there, as you can see. And of course, the Olives are to die for! To see more of our trip, click here.

Sept. 4th and 5th

Hi, we stayed at Shasta Lake. The lake is down. They say it goes down 1 foot a day in the summer. the fishing in the Sacremento river is good. We heard Sarah Palins speech. WOW.
We have enjoyed the drive through the mountains. Last night we stayed at Seven Feathers RV Resort. It is brand new and attached to an Indian Casino and very upscale. When you call for the shuttle it picks you up at your RV and takes you to the casino. It seems like we're in the middle of nowhere but the casino had a lot of people. we just had dinner and came back home to watch the rest of the Republican convention. Of course MaCains' speech wasn't as riviting as Palins' but I liked it. We are taking Patience on a lot of walks which she likes. when we stepped out of our RV yesterday guess what was looking at us. Yep, that deer in the pic. She stayed long enough for me to get my camera and take a pic. we think she was watching Patience. People are just waking up here and walking there dogs while drinking a cup of coffee. Now I'm going to try to insert a few pictures. Good luck to me.

Hi everyone.
Our first night was spent at Santa Nella Campground. (Near Pea Soup Anderson on the I - 5 )

In the morning we walked to Starbucks with Patience, had coffee and then played with Patience before leaving. onight wer're at Mt. shasta and plan on watching sarah Palin. we have a nice site with a view of the mountain. So far no problems except Art from America acused me of snoring. Oh well.

Joys' Art Barn

This is actually a Tough Shed barn. we ordered it with 2 skylights. Art put in 2 windows, a hardwood floor, a loft, work bench, and a side and front deck. It is equiped with air conditionin,, electricity, a refrigerator and a microwave. Lucky me. I love it. It is located on our lower parking lot, and when I go there to paint, I take my cell phone because I don't feel like I'm at home. Joy

Trip to San Fran

Joy and Art let us (the Domokos') borrow the Outlaw to take our family on a trip while all the Degroots were in Mexico. We went to Emma Woods in Ventura, Lopez Lake, and San Francisco.
We had a wonderful time--the most beautiful spot was Emma Woods on the beach in the morning. The sky and the rocks and the surf were so peaceful and quiet. We saw a lot of pelicans flying just above the water (how do they not touch the water with their wingtips?), a few odd seals, and cormorants diving for fish. The scariest part was the drive on highway 1 from Hearst Castle. Mike had warned me that it was a steep windy road, but I didn't realize it was that steep and windy! Jeez! It was definitely worth the view, but I don't think we'll be doing that again--at least not in a 37 foot RV.
The kids really liked Lopez Lake with its water park and trails, and we all liked the adventure of public transportation and the excitement of the big city in San Fransisco. Mike made it the entire way without so much as a scratch from a low hanging tree branch, until we took the RV home and tried to back it in the driveway. Oh, well! It just blended in with all the other scracthes that were there previously.
